Author was invited into the homes on many south Texas ranches where she photographed and recorded their ranching histories. Contains the only interview ever given by Alice Gertrudis Kleberg East, Granddaughter of Captain Richard King from her home on the 350,000 acre San Antonio Viejo Ranch, 13 miles north of the Rio Grande near Zapata. Albert Gates Ranch near Catarina, Dolph Briscoe near Catarina, Belton Kleberg Johnson. Chaparrpsa Ranch, Red Nunnley at La Paloma Ranch near Eagle Pass, and many other southwest Texas ranchers.

Signed. Biographies and stories of ranch life in South Texas. Chapters are arranged by families and their ranches. Lots of photographs, by the author, of the people, the country and the livestock. Dian Malouf grew up down there and knows her way around. The book is in very good condition, though it is slightly bowed. The bottom spine has a slight bump. The dust jacket has a wrinkle at the top of the spine and at the bottom front spine, no tears. There is very minor shelf wear. The author has inscribed, dated and signed on the title page.

As New in dj. Never read. This book has been kept in its original box until now. The silver gilding on spine and front board may have been discolored by the long storage.
