HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents CAVE TO RENAISSANCE: DRAWINGS OF THE MASTERS, compiled and narrated by Harvard Professor Benjamin Rowland, Jr., 141 pages, We start in Pre-History and follow the progress of pictorial art all the way to the Renaissance, when paintings as "works of art" actually began. "The panorama of drawings in this volume provides a necessary background for all who would understand the sources and development of our Western art tradition." 8 1/8" x 9 1/2", 141 page hardcover, with the ORIGINAL UNCLIPPED DUST JACKET. 93 plates (most in color). Overall condition of the book is VERY GOOD. Pages = Very Good: liquid damage to bottom of first 70 pages, particularly noticeable front reverse cover through end of Table of Contents, foxing to last fep and back reverse cover, else very tight, sharp, clear, white, very colorful, with no additional marks. Cover (beige cloth boards, with particulars in black) = Very Good: liquid damage to lower front, both front and back slightly bent, else tight, sharp, clear printing, with little rubbing. ORIGINAL DUST JACKET (glossy yellow paper with color plate of cave drawing front, particulars in white and black) = Fair: separated and taped at spine, liquid damage to lower section, several sizable chips top and bottom, sunning to edges, else entire, clear print, colorful picture.
