San Francisco: The Grabhorn Press, 1945. First Edition. Cloth-backed decorated boards. Very Good Plus/Custom Clear Mylar. 84 pages. SIGNED in ink on the colophon by Edwin Grabhorn. Cloth-backed decorated boards. 5 3/4" x 9 1/4". Per the colophon: "This edition, published through the assistance of the late Albert M. Bender, is limited to five hundred copies, printed at the Grabhorn Press in March 1945." Hoyt H. Hudson (1893-1944) was often described as a "true Renaissance man". He received his PhD from Cornell, where he was the principal spokesman for the Cornell School of Rhetoric. After Cornell, he taught at Pittsburgh, Swarthmore and Princeton, before settling at Stanford. He died suddenly in 1944. This volume of his poetry was published posthumously.
