London: John Murray, 1870. Later edition (hardback). 12mo (19cm by 13cm), xix, 277pp. Portrait frontispiece, text illustrations (several of which are full-page). Original two-tone cloth binding (green spine, burgundy boards), gilt titling and design to the spine, gilt design to the front board. Binding a little rubbed and shaken, inner hinges repaired, bookplate to the front pastedown; overall, this book is in good condition.
