Paris,: J. Rotschild,, (1889).. xxxv, [i], 762, [ii,], pp. Small 8vo (15 x 18,5 cm.). Original green decorative cloth, black tooled and gilt lettered; marbled edges (top & bottom of spine slightly rubbed; partly slightly loose in binding, but firm). Richly illustrated with 334 wood engravings in the text, and 20 fine chromolithographical plates, interleaved with their explanatory text on green paper. ¶ Stafleu/Cowan, 6388. A very good copy of this nicely illustrated introduction to mycology. The text illustrations were drawn after the works of Payer, Decaisne, J. de Seynes, Tulasne, Berkeley, Quélet a.o., the coloured plates were drawn by Housselin after Krombholz, Leveillé, Builliard, Cordier, Roll, Lorinzer, and after the author's watercolours. --(Stamp on title).
