Paris: G. Ondet, 1890. Hardcover. Very good condition. Illustrated edition of the lyrics and music of one of Paris' and Montmartre's most popular songwriters and music hall artists of the 1890s, Leon Xanrof (Leon Alfred Fourneau). Many of the songs were performed at Le Chat Noir and other famous cabarets; Yvette Guilbert famously sang Xanrof's "Le Fiacre" (The Cab) in 1892 (here at p59). 8vo, frontispiece, 289 pp, marbled end papers. Quarter brown gilt leather and brown marbled boards.
