Publisher’s Note: The translation is taken from Volume 2 of the English edition of V.I. Lenin’s Collected Works in 45 volumes prepared by Progress Publishers, Moscow. Corrections have been made in accordance with the Fifth Russian edition of the Collected Works. Includes laid-in ERATTA slip. In very good condition. Green paper covers with black and cream lettering on front. Light bumping and creasing to edges and corners of covers and light overall scuffing and soling. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. The essay "A Characterisation of Economic Romanticism" was written by Lenin while in exile in Siberia in the spring of 1897. It appeared in four issues (Nos. 7-10) of the "legal Marxist" magazine Novove Slovo (New Word ) for April-July 1897, over the signature K. T-n. It was included later in the miscellany entitled Economic Studies and Essays by Vladimir Ilyin which appeared in October 1898 (though the date given on the cover and the title-page is 1899).
