About This Item
The sole UK printing published by the The Holywell Press in 1929. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Number 68 of only 300 copies published. Some toning to the text-block with some spotting to the blank end-papers. Small previous owner's bookplate to inside of the front cover. The contents are clean. The fragile WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Some rubbing to the corners, edges and spine folds. A minor mark to the front cover. The book is protected in a loose Mylar archival cover. Striking wrapper design, full page frontis and 4 further B/W illustrations by Rex Whistler. Laurence Whistler's fragile first book, privately printed when he was only 17 and still at Stowe School where it was sold in the school shop. A much nicer copy than usually encountered of this very scarce publication. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
