Later generation photocopy, but produced during production, with vintage Embassy Pictures production company wrappers. Based on the 1975 stage production of the same name, a Broadway play is being put on by Zach (Douglas) and he is holding auditions. His former love interest also shows up to audition and she is desperate to work any role, even to be in the chorus line. Throughout the film, the stories of the dancers are revealed, all varied, but all focused on a love of dance. According to director Attenborough, Madonna auditioned for the production as a dancer under her birth name Ciccone and was turned away. Nominated for three Academy Awards. Set in New York City, shot on location there, as well. White production company wrappers (Embassy Pictures), untitled. Title page present, dated November 17, 1982, noted as First Draft, with credits for screenwriter Arnold Schulman. 128 leaves, with last page of text numbered 126. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Near Fine bound internally with two gold brads.
