HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents No. 181 of a Limited 500 edition of CHRISTIAN R. HOLMES, MAN AND PHYSICIAN by Martin Fischer. Springfield and Baltimore: Charles C. Thomas, 1937. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED to Dr. Lee Foshay, Chairman of the Department of Microbiology at the University of Cincinnati at the time, this 233 page book has retained not only its ORIGINAL DUST JACKET, but also its complete SLIP CASE. 7 5/8" X 10 3/4". Pages (deckled, heavy manila) = Very Good: a few pages unseparated at top, inscription page separated and laid in, slight tanning to top 20% oof most pages. Cover (blue cloth boards with 1/4 leatherette binding, gold gilt particulars both front and spine) = Fine. Jacket (blue heavy paper with black particulars) =Good: top to bottom tear on spine carefully repaired with tape from back, moderate chipping to bottom front, flaps fully in tact. Slipcase (blue, unmarked heavy cardboard = Very Good: Solid, no tears or chips, worn and sunned, 2 marks on front from removed mailing label. Noted appraiser James Beattie has valued this copy at $60.
