Oversized (folio) paper covers, staple bound, [14] pp (unpaginated). Illustrated by Fern Bisel Peat with 6 full page color + 8 silhouette illustrations. In acceptable condition. Orange illustrated covers have a 1 1/2" x 1" chip on the back cover near the spine about halfway up from the bottom and several other smaller nicks and tears and creasing along edges. Moderate overall aging and soiling to covers as well. Covers are separated from rest of stapled text block which is now laid-in. Moderate staining, aging and spotting to pages as well but pages are otherwise unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. An acceptable reading copy. Fern Bisel Peat (1893-1971) was an American illustrator. Peat attended Ohio Wesleyan University. She founded an interior-decorating studio with her husband, where she specialized in designing material for children, including textiles, wallpaper, and murals. From 1935 into the 50s, Peat served as the art director for Children’s Playmate magazine, and produced the publication's colorful covers.
