Published London: Richard Bentley, 1836. Large 8vo., 6" x 9", xv+440pp.; vi+408pp., with half titles and frontispieces etched by Hervieu present. Marbled boards and endpapers, top edge gilt. Name plate of noted collector Benjamin DeForest Curtiss on front pastedown of each volume. Power was a well known Irish comedian, actor and author. He toured the Eastern U.S. extensively and was lost at sea returning home from his last tour of 1841. He was great-grandfather of the Hollywood actor of the same name. Pages clean and bright white, page block crisp. Minor rub/scuff at extremities. A fine set in an elegant binding.. Signed. 1st. Hard. Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo.
