About This Item

Newark, NJ, 1917-1919. 13 pages. 4 pages from Delpark Inc., a NY-based clothing company seeking a patent to manufacture a new shirt collar. Contacting a solicitor to investigate the patents of its creator. Delpark seeks, in these documents, to purchase the collar's patent from the inventor, Edward J. Quigley, and his partner, William H. Stevens. 7 pages delineate the agreement between the two parties, permitting Delpark to make and sell the collar. 2 pages are a letter from Stevens, previous to the agreement, warning Delpark of infringing on the royalties of Quigley's invention. An article in The Haberdasher, January 1921, page 67, Turning a Byway Into a Buy Way - reports of the shop Edward J. Quigley & Co. is located at Astor Court, a private thoroughfare beside the Waldorf-Astoria, Mr. Quigley and his vice-president of the firm, William H. Stevens, fit custom-made shirts.
