Clean firm green covers with gilt lettering on the spine and simple decoration on the front cover, sound binding although paper is starting to split over front inner hinge, clean cream uncut (untrimmed) pages and plates. Includes crisp clean foldout map in black and red at page viii, all 10 plates at rear and also inset woodcut illustrations. A supplement to the 1864 volume with chapter and main text page numbering consecutive to the earlier work. No dust-jacket. Stamps for Halifax Antiquarian Society and "Withdrawn" stamp on inside front cove and prelimsr. Pages of main text and plates (including reverse of plates) are free from stamps.
