Description:
Faber & Faber, Russell Square, London 1949 (mcmxlix) hardcover, 5¾" x 8¾" (without jacket) Ours is an ex-library copy in transparent protective covering, with multiple stamps, stickers, barcode, etc. Book in FAIR condition This work is the full text of an important paper read by Mr Read in April 1948 at the John Hopkins University, Baltimore. The text here is considerably longer than the lecture actually delivered. In this essay, Mr Read continually resists the temptation to be led away by Coleridge's personality and concentrates upon his critical philosophy, showing the relevance of his thought to problems with which contemporary philosophy is much concerned.
