Willis Dixon to front pastedown. 8vo; original chocolate coloured boards, lettered in gilt on spine; price-clipped laminated pictorial dustwrapper; pp. (xii) + 212, incl. index; maps; plates. Dustwrapper a little sunned; some spotting to top edge. Very good condition. "Geoffrey Amey has made an absorbing reconstruction of the whole episode, from the building of the dam to the bitter enquiry which followed its failure; for in terms of loss of life, human suffering and material devastation, the collapse of the Dale Dyke Dam may well have been the worst disaster in Victorian England." .
