About This Item
New York: Macmilllan, 1951 This Volume Is A True First Us Edition, An Apparent Oddity. Spine Lettering And "Cancel Title Page" (Tipped In, And Slightly Smaller Than The Other Pages) Indicate Macmillan Was Publisher. Date Is 1951. Verso States Copyright 1951 By Marianne Moore, With "Printed In Great Britain" At The Bottom Of The Page. A Loose 'Errata' Sheet Is Included And The Errors Are Indeed Present In The Main Text, Eg. The Poem, Efforts And Affection, Which Should Read Efforts Of Affection. Lacks Dj And Pages Are Yellowing With Definite Browning To Endpapers, But The Book Shows Only Very Light Wear To Corners And Gilt Lettering Is Intact On Spine. Boards Are Clean And Bright. Apparently These Books Were Printed By Faber And Faber In England, But Those Shipped To The U.S. Were Seized By Customs. Presuming Some Escaped To Canada, Including This One.
