This is a first edition (1982) of The Collected Stories of Isaac Bashevis Singer (1903-1991), the Polish-American writer who is one of 13 American citizens to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. He wrote hundreds of stories; this selection was chosen by Singer.
Singer wrote exclusively in Yiddish. His stories were translated into English by other writers, usually Saul Bellow. Most of them appeared in the New Yorker.
This book is 610 pages -- see Table of Contents photos.
The dust jacket has minor shelfwear.
There is a tiny amount of fading to the green fabric of the book, just at the top of the spine.
The inside of the book is pristine--mint condition.
