Novick has collected from scattered sources , many of them not accessible to the public , a massive collection of Holmes' work beginning with a piece that he wrote in collegein 1858 and ending with a piece that he wrote shortly before his death in 1935 . His essay notes and annotations for KENT'S COMMENTARIES and the complete text of his THE COMMON LAW are included ( along with his notes for a revision ) .
