The volumes themselves include a few black and white photographs of Godel from his lifetime and each has a frontispiece portrait of Gödel from his early, middle, and later life. Many of the essays in this set are printed in both their German and English versions in the first two volumes. The first three volumes of Gödel's works, does not include volumes four and five, (the letters and notes of Gödel). Kurt Gödel won the first Albert Einstein award in 1951 and was awarded the National Medal of Science in 1974. Slater 345. A lovely set of works from one of the greatest and most influential mathematicians in all of history. A Near Fine set with a slight concavity to the spine from reading to the volumes; dust jackets are Near Fine with some fading to the spine panels and to the tops of the flaps of volumes one and two.
