Almon, 1777. 8vo, The First Edition. 280,[3],(Index)pp., printed in double columns, light foxing to margins, in contemporary full speckled calf, rear raised bands, spine and gilt stamping is worn, upper hinge starting but secure, wanting labels, neat bookplate & name label on front paste down endpaper, some slight foxing throughout as usual, a very good copy. Gephart 3102. - This work is usually referred to by its running title `Prior Documents,' after the name taken from its running title, it was intended to precede the first volume of Almon's `Remembrancer, or Impartial Repository of Public Events,' which was published annually from 1775-1784. It contains a collection of authentic papers on the various questions in dispute, from the resolutions of 1764, which gave rise to the Stamp Act, to the battle of Lexington, in 1775." -(Church) Scarce and important.
