Well researched local history of the village of Catonsville, near Baltimore. Focuses on the pre-Revolutionary period and gathers many interesting facts, anecdotes, and genealogical threads from a variety of scattered sources. Originally published in 1944 as "Early Catonsville and the Caton Family. " Appendices include information on early Quakers in Maryland, Baltimore County land grants south of the Patapsco River, family names on Hunting Ridge, a section of maps and plats, etc. This is copy #375 in a second printing of the Bicentennial Edition limited to 500 copies. Tan cloth over boards with gilt stamped lettering on dark brown title blocks on spine and upper board, endpaper maps. Shallow edge wrinkles at spine ends.. No dust jacket.
