Paris: A. Combette, n.d., 1842. Engraved map (approx. 14" x 21") hand-colored in outline, extracted from the Atlas National Illustré. Top margin irregular from extraction, otherwise very good. "Illustré par Raymond Bonheur, Peintre." at lower left margin. "Gravé par Laguillermie, Rue St. Jacques, No. 82.," "Impie. de Lemercier Paris.," "A Paris chez l'Editeur, Rue de la Parchemmerie, 15." at lower right margin. Attractive map of the island of Martinique displayed on a banner scroll, surrounded by steel engraved vignettes featuring the riches of the colony. Empress Josephine, the wife of the Emperor Napoleon, was born on this island, and is shown in a bust at the right.
