New York, 1920. Hardcover. Very good overall. Fraternity member record book for Theta Delta Chi's chapter at New York's Columbia College, recording member names and other information from 1883 to 1920.
The book records the names of four fraternity brothers who were killed in WWI: Herbert Arthur Buermeyer, "killed in action at Vaux, June 2, 1918" (p233); Duncan Campbell "killed in action at Argonne Forest, Nov. 1, 1918, 1st Lt. Infantry" (p251; William Edwin Davis Jr "gassed while with A. E. F. died later from the effects. Feb. 10, 1920" (p259); and Ralph O'Neal West "joined USMC Dec 15 1917; Sept. 12 1918 killed in action at St Mihiel" (p278).
Information recorded here includes member names, home town, date of graduation & degree, present occupation and most interestingly, "remarks", which provides more information on careers, family & important life events. One brother earned a Master's of Law degree (p42), while another was expelled (p29)!
Folio, 294 pp; records are completed in period ink. Three quarter dark brown leather and brown gilt cloth. Covers and spine rubbed; text pages bright and clean.
