Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1964. First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Signed by Barthelme, inscribed to Celia Simon and her partner on half title. [viii], 183 pp. Original purple cloth with gilt lettering. Near Fine with former owner's on front free endpaper, scratch to that page, in an unclipped dust jacket with small spine panel repair. The author's first collection of stories.
Laid in is an original pencil portrait of Barthelme by an unknown artist dated 1982, very skillfully done, signed by Barthelme as well.
