'The Chalet School' series contained approximately sixty school story novels by Elinor Brent-Dyer. They were initially published between 1925 and 1970. This particular novel discusses coming-of-age at the Chalet School and the Old Girls visits. The first edition, held in original, unclipped Elinor M Brent-Dyer was a popular children's author who wrote more than 100 books in her lifetime. Condition: In original cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Slight ageing and spots to the top and bottom of boards and spine. Dustwrapper is chipped to the extremities. Loss to the tail of spine due to chipping. Patches of rubbing to the joints. Prior owner has covered wrap in a plastic adhesive for both a preservative purpose and for repair. Tape is visible to the top of wraps. Closed tears, to the head of wrap and several small holes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Heavy spotting to the foredge, affecting occasional pages. Scattered spots to the first and last few pages. The odd spots to pages. Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed in a Good dustwrapper.
