London: Herbert Jenkins, pre-1926. Hardcover. Very Good +. P.G. Wodehouse book The Coming of Bill early ninth edition in the original red binding is for sale. The P.G. Wodehouse A Comprehensive Bibliography by Eileen McIlvaine (A23b) states that the twelfth printing was 1926, and so this P.G. Wodehouse book can be dated to at or before 1926. This P.G. Wodehouse book measures 5¼ x 7¾ inches (approximately). The original red binding has a black border to the front board, black lettering to the spine and the Herbert Jenkins logo to the back board. The binding is in Very Good condition with slight fading to the spine and discolouration to part of the back board. There are 251 numbered pages with 4 pages of advertisements to the back of the book to include an advertisement for the seventh edition of the P.G. Wodehouse book Damsel In Distress. The pages are exceptionally clean and firmly bound into the book. This is a very attractive and collectable early P.G. Wodehouse book.

Description:
New York: Random House, 1959. Book. Illus. by Sam March (dust jacket design). Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. Small octavo. Humes's second novel, following 'The Underground City,' both of which led to his being considered by Esquire magazine as having the same promise as two obscure guys named Updike and Styron (whoever they are). Anyway, he met a guy named Leary who introduced him to a little substance known as LSD, and after seriously indulging his fondness for the hallucinogen he became a trifle paranoid and a bit delusional, which pretty much ended his writing career. Humes was co-founder (with Peter Matthiessen and George Plimpton) of The Paris Review. He died of prostate cancer in 1992. Black cloth w/gilt lettering, 184 pages. Mildly cocked, light general wear, in price-clipped dust jacket w/light rubbing, light edgewear, creases to fore-edges of both flaps..
