About This Item

J C Juta & Co, Cape Town and Johannesburg, 1891. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 414 pages (complete). Previous owner stamps about: for Louis Miller, a skilful and formidable Johannesburg defence advocate (he was not only an anarchist at heart and personal belief, but he was a collector of stamps, law reports and anything else that caught his eye, although unlike Queen Mary, he offered to pay for these items!); Maurice Eugen Lang, the author of the prestigious and magisterial 'Codification of the British Empire and America'. The boards have wear, scuffing, marks from shelving, handling and storage. Gilt titling and borders. The spine has age, storage and user wear. The spine and boards are sure and secure. The contents are pleasingly healthy. They are clean, clear, tidy, neat, confident, authoritative, knowing, earnest. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
