First titlepage +[31] leaves +244 leaves +2nd title +[15] leaves +258 leaves +[2] leaves +3rd title +[11] leaves +96 leaves. Early paper repair to lower corner of page 1 otherwise crisp & clean throughout, neat pencil notes in Italian to rear end-papers with "the following passage by Costo copied from the edition of 1563 .. at Florence 24 Mar. 1832 W.M Tarlt". Bookplates with presentation to Cheltenham Public Library by Miss Carrington [1886]. *Revised & enlarged edition of this important historical work by Collenuccio, an early Italian humanist, first published in 1539 after his death.
