A Complete Set (6 Vols.) Of 'The True Account Of Great Events In Human Achievement' Series comprising 'Nuvolari And The Alfa Romeo', 'Richthofen The Red Baron', 'Lindbergh The Lone Flier', 'Jimmy Murphy And The White Duesenberg', 'First Up Everest', 'Shackleton's Epic Voyage'. All books are the First UK printings published by Hamish Hamilton, London between 1968 and 1969. The original wrappers are present for all six books and are protected in removable Brodart archival covers. The BOOKS are in VERY GOOD++ or better condition and are free from inscriptions and erasures. Some slight spotting to the prelims and extreme page edges in places to the 'Nuvolari' title. A production fault has resulted in a very slight protrusion of one of the gatherings to the 'Lindbergh' title. The 'First Up Everest' title has been Signed (without dedication) by Raymond Briggs to the title page. The WRAPPERS are all in Very Good++ condition. The 'Everest' title is neatly price-clipped. The price on the 'Duesenberg' title has been over written in pen '3/6'. A little edge-wear with some rubbing in places and to the folds in some titles. The scarce wrappers however, remain very striking in the Brodart archival covers. All six titles are profusely illustrated throughout in B/W and full colour by Raymond Briggs. An exceptionally scarce set with many of the individual titles rarely turning up on the open market, more-so with the original wrappers in such collectible condition. Most copies appear to have ended up in the library system. A highlight series from the creator of 'The Snowman' and only the second complete set we have handled to date. Collectible.
