Later textured binder's cloth lettered in gilt on the spine; oval ink-stamp erased from the head of the title page (resulting in two small holes), and the head of page v; map mounted on linen (now curled a little on the inner margin when folded), with a small sealed surface tear well clear of the printed surface; trifling signs of use and age; overall in very good condition. This account was extracted from Sturt's journal and 'from Papers transmitted to the ... Secretary of State for the Colonies'. McLaren 15681. This part-volume also contains three other articles, each with a folding map or plan (now linen-backed). They are Charles T. BEKE: On the Nile and its Tributaries (84 pages); Lord COLCHESTER and Captain COLLINSON: On the Yang-tsze-kiang (16 pages); and Lieutenant T. SPRATT: Remarks on the Isthmus of Mount Athos (6 pages).
