Consumers' Cooperative Society of Palo Alto, 1973. Unbound. Very Good. Unmarked.Three items for the Consumers' Cooperative Society of Palo Alto 1973 fundraising drive: (1) One-page letter seeking funds for the underfinanced Co-op: "If we all pitch in and get behind this investment campaign . . .we'll raise more than enough money to meet our pressing needs." (2) Unmarked donation card. (3) Question and Answer sheet with basic information related to Co-op investment, 1973. The organization began in 1935 when 35 people got together to form a cooperative food-buying club to save money during the Great Depression. Initial success were followed by mounting losses, with the business coming to an end in 2001.
