About This Item
iii+48 pages with folding map and 12 plates. Quarto (10 1/2" 7 33/4") bound in original publisher's green wrappers. From the library of Professor Julian Steward. First edition in separate book form.
Although this paper is primarily ethnographical it should not be entirely without archaeological interest. Since many of the techniques in use today are pre-Columbian in origin, an understanding of them should facilitate the interpretation of archaeological data. Julian Haynes Steward (January 31, 1902-February 6, 1972) was an American anthropologist best known for his role in developing "the concept and method" of cultural ecology, as well as a scientific theory of culture change.
Condition: Withdrawn stamp of SMU Library stamped to title, sunned at edges, corner's bumped, Steward's stamp to front wrapper else about very good.
