A Royal Naval officer's account of his service in the Great War, blockading continental ports on the English Channel, supervising convoys in the Mediterranean, and participating in the development of enigmatic mystery towers, part of an ambitious plan to lessen Allied shipping losses to German submarines. With a foreword by Commander Carolyn Bellains, R. N. (Ret. ) Late Member of Parliament for Maidstone. From the Preface: My object in recording these events which came under my personal observation, and in which I took an active part, is to enable my countrymen to form a just estimate of various aspects of the Great War. Condition: In a black cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally, generally smart with some rubbing and wear to the top and tail of the spine. Spine is also slightly cocked. Internally, pages are firmly bound. Front hinge is slightly tender. Pages are a little browned and foxed to predominantly front and rear pastedowns and free-end papers. Edges of leaves are a little burnished. Overall: VERY GOOD INDEED..
