England, 1896-90. Half pebble maroon morocco. Very Good. Folio. Architectural Album. Half pebble maroon morocco with linen boards. Wear to ends of spine, hinges and corners with some loss; more recent end papers. This is an original collection of 44 fine engineering drawings prepared by author. Most of these expert drawings were made on large, folding heavyweight sheets with author's signature at lower right. Some of the projects designed include 3 inch bolt, Skew Bridge, Chain Survey at Coopers Hill, Trigonometrical Survey at Coopers Hill, Railway Project Cross Sections, Watt's Parallel Motion, Design for 34 H.P. Turbine - 65 Feet Tall, Masonry Dam Reservoir Empty, and so on.. Locales in which the projects seem to have been planned to include Coopers Hill and Chobham Common. This was work done by Adami at the Royal Indian Engineering (RIE) College which is embossed in gilt on front cover. "The Royal Indian Engineering College was a British college of Civil Engineering founded by Sir George Tomkyns Chesney in 1870. It was intended to train engineers for the Indian Public Works department. In 1885, the first forestry school in England was established in conjunction with the college, under the direction of William Schlich. In 1906, its work transferred to India and the college closed. The college was variously and colloquially referred to as "Cooper's Hill" and "I.C.E. College", (I.C.E. being an acronym for Indian Civil Engineering). The college was also referred to as RIEC."
