First American printing, very good hardcover shows some mild soil and shelf wear to covers, name, date and rental library ink stamp to front endpaper, staining to page edges with spot staining to a few pages within and with some other light trace wear, in very good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows light soil and wrinkling with edgewear that includes closed tears and shallow open chipping at spine ends and top coner of front panel. 242 pages. Still a solid copy in jacket of this first in the line of engaging novels featuring insurance detective Montague Cork.
