All edges marbled. Neat signature (M.C.E.S. Douglas) to upper edge of first blank. Shelf wear to extremities and boards.

Ferdinand Gregorovius (1821 - 1891) historian and writer.

Russell Martineau (1831 - 1898), Linguist, translator and librarian of Early Printed Books at the British Museum. The eldest son of James Martineau.
