Sterling condition hardcover copies, with unbruised tips, tight bindings, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Bright and shiny dust jackets, illustrated, showing only very minor wear beyond light chipping along top edge, light sunning inside along top edges, not price-clipped. Half-toned first free endpaper (where once was likely a loose newspaper article) to Volume One, covering the period 1869-1877, both volumes being edited and annotated brilliantly by Martin Gregor-Dellin and Dietrich Mack, translated and with an Introduction by Geoffrey Skelton. Rich with illustrations and its own full Index. Volume II is 1,200 pages in length and also comes complete with its own Index. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
