London: Printed by T. Bensley for John Stockdale, 1811. Very Good. 10.25 x 14.25 inches (26 x 36.5 cm). Plate XII. A Mordvin Woman, of the Mokchanien Tribe. Two engravings (Nos. 12 and 14) plus a description page printed one side in English, the other side in French. Engravings have a few marks and light foxing, both have very bright colours, reverse of each engraving is blank. Approx Engraving Sizes: 6.5 x 7 inches (16.5 x 17.5 cms) & 5.5 x 7 inches (13.5 x 17.5 cms). Engraving 14 states 'Published Jan 1803 by E. Harding, Pall Mall', however these examples are from the 1811 edition published by John Stockdale, The sheet with Engraving 14 is watermarked 'J.Whatman 1812'. Overall condition is Very Good.
