[Toronto: s.n., 1954] Blue printed card covers with three side-staples, pp. [18], signed "by Marshall McLuhan" on front cover beneath title, and with pencilled price of "35" in top right corner. Covers gently faded and browned around margins, very light stains near fore-edge of rear cover, top outer corner curled. "In the same year that Wyndham Lewis published "Self Condemned", Marshall McLuhan took inspiration from Lewis's journal "BLAST" and produced "COUNTERBLAST", intended, like "Self Condemned" to shake the city of Toronto out of its smugness, complacency, and spiritual torpor." - from the foreword by Terrence Gordon, of the reprint edition..
