Judge Sims has written about West Texas Folk he has known, knew or heard about and in the process has written a history of West Texas from the closing of the frontier days to the present (1970) . The Sims family moved to West Texas in the 1880's, starting out in the ranching business and introducing young Sims to the life of the cowpoke. Sims served a term as a state legislator and as a county judge.
