About This Item

(Cape Town: Centaur, 1975) 0908379439. 4to; original brown boards; pictorial dustwrapper; pp. (viii) + 128, incl. index; profusely illustrated with a map, and photographs in colour and monochrome, including a sequence of the entire escarpment, with all the peaks identified. Dustwrapper a bit edgeworn and rubbed, with trace of sunning to spine panel. Very good condition, in a good dustwrapper. "With Dr. David Dodds as your guide you will find yourself visiting inaccessible places that as a rule only the mountaineer is fortunate enough to explore, or venturing on to the escarpment in winter when the snow lies deep. On the way as you read the book and study its lovely pictures, you will begin to hear the music that you will never forget - The Song of the High Berg." .
