1st edition. Good HC, no DJ. Orange cloth over boards, green letters. Scuffed/lightly soiled covers & spine; sunned on spine and at cover edges; rubbed at spine tail w/ small splits; lightly rubbed at spine head and at fore corners; tightly bound, but front hinge somewhat weakened and back hinge apparently (neatly) repaired; owner name (Sam Kamensky, May 7, 1925) on front end paper; bookplate on front end paper, Harry M. Justiz (attorney and victim of HUAC witchhunts). Author's second novel. Bodenheim was a very influential realist writer, considered the quintessential American Bohemian. His third novel was suppressed as pornography resulting in a successful major legal battle by publisher Horace Liveright that helped finish the New York Society for the Suppression of Vice and similar censorship groups. 12mo, 238 pp.
