Early Birmingham imprint, first edition thus; 12mo; 191pp. In contemporary late eighteenth century marbled calf with flat spine divided into six compartments by gilt single fillets, head of spine and board corners worn with minor loss of leather, binding shaken but sound, early ink ownership inscription to front and rear endpapers ("Mary Band Nov. 24th 1800"), an attractive early Birmingham imprint of this popularl work first published in 1751.

Second edition, 8vo; [8], 310pp. In contemporary early eighteenth century panelled calf with five raised spine bands (front board detached, rear hinge split with board attached by two of three cords, wear to extremities with minor loss to spine ends and board corners), front free endpaper detached, closed tear and marginal chipping to tile page without loss of text, sporadic light soiling and staining, occasional early marginal ink inscriptions, early ownership inscription to front free endpaper ("Penny Hancock's Book"), early eighteenth century ink manuscript list of farm produce and prices to rear pastedown.
