(1st English) Small sticker on title page with fine tiny purple ink signature: "Roberson Davies," with Viking Logo and printed "Signed First Edition." DJ has white background beneath mylar to front and spine, color-illustration of tipi, symbol of medicine and bird on gold pole on front, b/w photo of Davies on back with praise from Observer. DJ light creases at spine top, micronick at spine bottom edge, slight wear at top back tip, light tiny spots on exterior pages, stamped "Damaged" on pages' bottom edge. Very Good DJ/Fine book.
Synopsis
Robertson Davies (1913-1995) had three successive careers during the time he became an internationally acclaimed author: actor, publisher, and, finally, professor at the University of Toronto. The author of twelve novels and several volumes of essays and plays, he was the first Canadian to be inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
