Issue number 2152, volume LXXXIII of the Cycling magazine, which survives as 'Cycling Weekly', having been first published on 24 January 1891. Frank Patterson was an illustrator whose impeccable drawings first appeared in a November issue in 1893. His last illustration appeared in 1952. Patterson was known for his meticulous treatment of the bicycle, especially the elusive ellipses, and his ability to capture different species of trees. It was said a Patterson Oak could never be mistaken for an Elm. In this particular issue, there is a fine full-page illustration on the title-page and three other touring illustrations, also small illustration as part of a CTC advertisement. Stapled paper covers, pages brown as usual, otherwise a very good copy..
