Scarce copy in Very Good condition. Small folio with four loose "Indian Leaflets" regarding the Dakota (Sioux) bark house, with an introduction on the Dakota peoples and the bark house or lodge as originally illustrated by frontier artists Hennepin, Eastman, Dallas, and Sweeny, and reproduced here from Minnesota Historical Society archives. Includes a short bibliography. The author states, "It seems high time that a group of contemporary sketches of the distinctive Dakota bark house so familiar to visitors to Fort Snelling and St. Paul should be readily available for schools and students of Indian life of this region." Stiff yellow wraps with French flap, unpaginated, illus. [x7]
