About This Item

New York: Doubleday, Doran & Co., Inc, 1937. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo. 336p. Black cloth with orange spine lettering. Bottom corners and spine ends bumped, bookplate pasted-in to the verso of the intro page facing the half-title. Map endpapers, with a piece of ripped paper glued to the edge of the final blank. Small stain to p. 256, but otherwise the book is clean and unmarked and the binding tight and square. Price intact dust jacket, with light nicking and creasing to the corners and spine ends, with a fade to the spine, a tear to the upper edge of the front flap, and a long tear along the rear spine hinge of the jacket, held by clear tape that runs almost from the top to the bottom. First American edition.
