Ashland: Lewis Osborne, 1972. Hardcover. 84p., 7.5x11 inches, rubricated and decorated title page, foreword, vintage illustrations, hardbound in black openweave cloth boards, spine- and cover-titled gilt. Expect a light small stain to bottom edge and a sunned spine panel (titling remains legible), otherwise a very good copy of this limited edition, #168/600. Browne was an Irish-American adventurer who took a job as Postal Agent in California that placed him in contact with surviving members of the Donner party and in the proximity of a famous mass-murder in San Miguel - a true story - to which he adds embellishment.

Near fine in heavy black cloth covered boards with gilt text stamped on the spine and gilt text and the image of a horse stamped in gilt on the front board. A small quarto of 10 5/8 by 7 inches with the cloth over the spine slightly faded and a small 1/2" stain on the fore edge of the text block. Without a dust jacket. One of only 600 copies issued with this copy identified as number 204 on the limitation page. 84 pages of text with engravings from earlier works of art. The foreword was written by Ferol Egan.
