The first Danny and the Dinosaur book was the second I CAN READ book after the "Little Bear" publication in 1957. Story: A little boy, Danny, visits the museum and finds a living dinosaur. Together, Danny and the dinosaur leave the museum and go on an adventure. They watch a ball game, go for a swim, play hide and seek, and even go to the zoo. At the end of the day, they must both return to their own homes, the dinosaur to the museum and Danny to his house.

[Note: If you are looking for a First Edition, keep in mind that when Danny and the Dinosaurs was published in 1958, the name of the publisher was Harper & Brothers. Only when Harper & Brothers merged with Row, Peterson & Company in 1962 did the name of the publisher become Harper & Row. Any copy that lists the publisher as "Harper & Row" was printed between 1962 and 1990. Genuine First Editions were published by "Harper & Brothers" and have pictorial paper boards with a cloth strip along the spine.]
